Turkish Airlines aircraft overshoots, diverts to Dhaka

According to the Civil Aviation Office at Tribhuvan International Airport, Flight TK726 encountered a technical problem while attempting to land. The flight crew decided not to land in Kathmandu and diverted the aircraft to Dhaka.

KATHMANDU, Feb 18: A Turkish Airlines aircraft arriving in Kathmandu from Istanbul overshot during its landing approach due to a technical issue. The aircraft was subsequently diverted to Dhaka.

According to the Civil Aviation Office at Tribhuvan International Airport, Flight TK726 encountered a technical problem while attempting to land. The flight crew decided not to land in Kathmandu and diverted the aircraft to Dhaka.


Airport officials said the issue was with the aircraft itself and not related to airport facilities. The wide-body A330 aircraft was scheduled to land at 11:10 AM and had an estimated arrival time of 10:56 AM. It has since landed safely in Dhaka.
