4.1 magnitude earthquake jolts Sindhupalchok

A minor earthquake with its epicenter located in Sindhupalchok jolted parts of central Nepal on Friday.

KATHMANDU, April 25: A minor earthquake with its epicenter located in Sindhupalchok jolted parts of central Nepal on Friday.


According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center (NEMRC), the earthquake took place at 11:53 am on Friday, with a magnitude of 4.1. The epicenter of the earthquake is reported to be in Phulpingkot in Sindhupalchowk district.

Similarly, reconstruction of more than 81,000 earthquake-ravaged houses in Sindhupalchowk district has been completed so far. Sindhupalchowk was one of the hardest hit districts by the devastating earthquake that hit Nepal in April, 2015.


According to the District Project Implementation Unit (DPIU), more than 81,000 human settlements have been reconstructed as of 2020.
