KATHMANDU, March 15: The Election Commission (EC) has stated that 4.7 percent of the votes were invalid in the House of Representatives (HoR) member election held on March 5.
According to the EC's Assistant Spokesperson, Kul Bahadur GC, the percentage includes both the first-past-the-post and proportional representation election systems.

The percentage of invalid votes in the HoR member election held in 2022 was 5.06 percent, while in the HoR election of 2017 it was 5.18 percent.
In the second Constituent Assembly member election held in 2013, 4.96 percent of the votes were invalid. Similarly, in the first Constituent Assembly election in 2008, 5.15 percent of the votes were invalid.
According to the EC, fewer votes were invalid this time compared to the previous five elections.
