KATHMANDU, Dec 18: The sixth edition of the Nepal–US Land Forces Talk (LFT), a three-day bilateral military dialogue aimed at enhancing cooperation between the armies of Nepal and the United States, kicked off at the Nepal Army Headquarters on Wednesday.
The LFT, which has been held annually since 2018, serves as a platform for the two nations to exchange experience and strengthen collaboration in areas including global peacekeeping, humanitarian assistance and disaster response.

A high-level delegation from the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC), led by Lieutenant General Scott A. Winter, is in Kathmandu for the talks. During the program, Lieutenant General Winter and Nepal’s Chief of Army Staff General Ashok Raj Sigdel are scheduled to hold a courtesy meeting at Army Headquarters.
Nepali Army has been actively participating in bilateral and multilateral military exercises, training and competitions with friendly nations including India, China, the United Kingdom and Pakistan as part of its efforts to enhance professional capability.
The army in a statement expressed its beliefs that initiatives like the Nepal–US Land Forces Talk will further deepen long-standing military ties and foster stronger partnerships among friendly forces.
