KATHMANDU, May 20: Dr Biswo Nath Poudel has been appointed as the 18th governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).
A cabinet meeting held on Tuesday evening appointed Dr Poudel as the governor of the country’s central bank. Prithvi Subba Gurung, spokesperson of the government, informed that the cabinet meeting took a decision in this regard.

Earlier, a recommendation committee led by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel had recommended Poudel along with acting NRB Governor Neelam Dhungana Timsina and former secretary of the Government of Nepal Dinesh Bhattarai for the position.
