COVID-19 cases have started to spike in Kathmandu: Health ministry

KATHMANDU, June 29: As COVID-19 cases are increasing in big cities like Kathmandu, the Ministry of Health and Population has urged the general public not to venture out of their houses unless it is urgent.

KATHMANDU, June 29: As COVID-19 cases are increasing in big cities like Kathmandu, the Ministry of Health and Population has urged the general public not to venture out of their houses unless it is urgent.



Speaking at a regular virtual press briefing, Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the health ministry, said that COVID-19 cases have started to spike in densely-populated cities like Kathmandu, so the general public needs to follow precautionary measures to stay safe from the global pandemic.

“People need to follow social distancing measures, use face masks, and follow other measures,” said Dr Gautam.


The ministry also informed the press that eight new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.
