CHITWAN, Oct 16: Coordinator of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has blamed former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for causing significant damage to public property and lives.
Speaking to party leaders and activists on Thursday at the party office in Bharatpur, Chitwan, Dahal said that although Oli was responsible for the recent violence during the “Gen Z” movement, no apology has been offered so far.
Dahal claimed that the main reason for the damage was the government’s crackdown on a youth movement that began peacefully, coupled with poor security arrangements.

“Because of him, so much public and private property was destroyed, yet to this day there has been no remorse,” he said.
He added that the government’s failure to manage the peaceful protests sensitively and inadequately prepare security made the situation disastrous.
“Youngsters in their college uniforms were shot in the head and chest. This incident has raised serious questions about the country’s image at the international level,” Dahal said.
He noted that the Maoist Center was the first party to demand the Prime Minister’s resignation and the formation of a high-level investigation commission, and the party has continued efforts to guide the country in the right direction.
Referring to the country’s move toward elections, Dahal said, “From the President to all major parties, everyone now agrees that elections are the best option. Sooner or later, all parties will participate in the polls.”
