Deuba says polls will be held by mid-December

RAUTAHAT, June 3: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has claimed that the fresh Constituent Assembly (CA) elections would be held within mid-December.



Deuba, who arrived here to attend the 13th day rites after the death of the mother of NC Rautahat District Committee President Krishna Prasad Yadav, also asked all not to cast doubt on holding of polls within the stipulated time. “Elections will be held even if the agitating parties did not come to the election process,” he said.[break]



In his brief remarks to media persons, Deuba also said there hasn´t been any formal talks between the NC with the CPN-UML for forming alliance for the upcoming election.



NC former general secretary Bimalendra Nidhi, former state minister for home affairs Devendra Raj Kandel, and central member Mohammad Aftab Aalam, among others, offer condolences at the death of Yadav´s mother. A condolence message sent by former Home Minister Khum Bahadur Khadka, who is currently serving jail term, was also read out on the occasion.



Hundreds of party leaders, cadres and well-wishers were present during the function. Locals had also gathered to see the helicopter that ferried central leaders of the party to the district.
