FLSC strike called off

DHARAN, Feb 10: Federal Limbuwan State Council (FLSC) called off indefinite strike in eastern hill districts on Thursday.



The FLSC agreed to withdraw the strike following a four-point deal reached between transport entrepreneurs and transport workers. [break]



The talks also decided to form a eight-member tasks force under transport entreprenuer Hira Udas to resolve the problem.



FLSC had announced an indefinite strike in nine districts east of the Arun River from Sunday demanding that the voters´ registration process be stopped and its cadre, who were arrested on the charge of torching a microbus in Dhankuta, be released. The normal life that was severely disrupted by the strike came to a normalcy.
