KATHMANDU, June 7: Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba urged passport service employees to remain sensitive while providing services that address the needs and problems of the people.
Addressing an orientation program in Dhangadhi for passport service employees at all District Administration Offices in Sudurpaschim Province, she highlighted the critical role of frontline staff.
She said, "Passports no longer serve as a luxury item but represent a basic right for every citizen. Therefore, those of you at the front desk carry the greatest responsibility. Serve the public seriously, keeping their needs and demands in mind."

She advised employees in these sensitive roles to prioritize citizens' problems and needs and focus on delivering quick, efficient, and accessible services.
Minister Rana also noted that the government is working to simplify and improve service accessibility, especially in remote areas like Sudurpashchim.
She acknowledged, "Getting a passport is no longer as complicated as before. However, I have heard some issues remain with service delivery times and distribution. People naturally expect fast government service. It is the government's duty to make services simple, easy, and accessible, and your role in this is crucial."
She called on employees to offer suggestions to help the government make passport services more accessible and user-friendly for citizens in remote districts.
"You can provide feedback on the problems citizens face with passports and recommend improvements. The government will continue to implement timely reforms accordingly," Minister Rana added.
