DANG, Jan 3: Politburo member of the UCPN (Maoist), Krishna Bahadur Mahara, has said that the UNMIN should be sent back only after forming a mechanism of the United Nations to monitor Nepal’s peace process.

UNMIN’s departure might affect the peace process, thus a mechanism of the UN should be formed to fill the gap, he said speaking at a press meet organized by Revolutionary Journalist Association, Dang.[break]

Efforts are underway to make an important decision before the UNMIN leaves, said Mahara, who is the former Minister for Information and Communications.

On the prime ministerial poll deadlock, he said that the Maoist party called special session of the Parliament to end the crisis.

Saying that crisis is deepening in the country due to delay in formation of a new government, he said that the Maoists are ready to sit in the opposition if formation of a Maoist led government is not possible.
