KATHMANDU, Nov 8: The price of gold in the domestic market declined marginally by Rs 600 per tola (11.6638 grams) last week.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the price fell to Rs 238,400 from Rs 239,000 per tola when the market closed the previous week. On Sunday, the precious yellow metal gained Rs 700, while the price remained stable the next day. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the price declined by Rs 1,400 and Rs 1,100 per tola, respectively. On each of the last two days of the week, gold became dearer by Rs 600.
Gold price reaches all time high at Rs 190,600 per tola
The FENEGOSIDA said the price slumped mainly due to an ease in geopolitical tension along with the moderation in the price of the US dollar in the international market.
Along with gold, the price of silver also pacified by Rs 40 per tola in Nepali market. The price declined to Rs 3,020 from Rs 3,060 per tola in the review period.
