Higher secondary schools closed in protest of Khyati's murder

KATHMANDU, June 23: All higher secondary schools nationwide are closed on Tuesday in protest of the murder of Jubilant Academy student Khyati Shrestha.



The Association for Private Educational Institutions - Nepal (APEIN) has called the closure.



Meanwhile, demonstrations by students of Jubilant Academy, have disrupted traffic in Kalimati area.



According to APEIN President Bhoj Bahadur Shah, the shut-down has been called to demand action against those involved in Shrestha´s abduction and murder, and address the need for security of teachers, students and educations institutions.



It was revealed on Monday by police that Biren Pradhan was the main culprit behind the murder and Merina Shakya, 16, his accomplice.
