KATHMANDU, April 10: Independent Power Producers’ Association Nepal (IPPAN), Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and India-Tech Foundation (ITF) are jointly organizing Hydropower-2009, a two-day international interactive hydropower convention, in Kathmandu on April 26.
The Government of Nepal will be the patron of the event with the theme of ‘Hydropower for the progress of Nepal’, according to IPPAN.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will inaugurate the function, in which ministers, high level officials, independent power producers and experts, among others, from Nepal and India will participate.
Sutluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited and GMR India, which are builders of 402 MW Arun-III and 300 MW Upper Karnali hydro projects, among other Indian companies, have extended corporate support for the event. The convention will explore opportunities in Nepal’s hydropower potentials.
