KATHMANDU, July 31: An Indian national was arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) with 1.5 kilograms of cocaine on Tuesday, according to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of Nepal Police.
Police said the woman was acting suspiciously, prompting the NCB’s team stationed at the airport to investigate. During the search, they discovered that she had concealed cocaine inside a specially designed hand bag, using plastic tubing to hide the substance.

SSP Krishna Koirala of the NCB stated that the bag appeared to have been specifically designed for cocaine smuggling. During interrogation, another Indian national who had arrived to receive the consignment was also arrested on Wednesday.
The Kathmandu district court has extended the remand of both suspects for further investigation. The NCB recently arrested foreign nationals including Russians in connection with drug trafficking.
