The recent floods occurred on Saturday night swept away the powerhouses of Tawakhola-III Micro Hydropower (17kw), Khobukhola Micro Hydropower (9.5kw) and Sanchahira Micro Hydropower Project (9kw), bringing the power generation to nil.Treasurer of Tawakhola-III Micro Hydropower Project Yubraj Katawal said that as high as 243 households are left without electricity supply in Mattim and Chhitapokhari after the powerhouse of the project was wiped out in the flood.
Likewise, nearly 175 households were also living without electricity supply in Khidima and Temma.
Locals said that equal time and cost would take for the reconstruction of the damaged powerhouses and resume power generation.
Similarly, property worth Rs 4 million was damaged after the flood swept away Mewakhola Hydropower in the district, according project chief Lalit Kumar Rai. The project was expected to generate power within three month if the construction works were unhampered. RSS
