Nepal ahead of Bhutan in rankings

KATHMANDU, March 14: Among South Asian countries Nepal holds better position only than Bhutan in the FIFA rankings published for the month of March on Thursday.



Nepal dropped one spot below in the rankings and lies in 175th position, two behind Sri Lanka which leapfrogged 20 spots up. Bhutan, the only other nation behind Nepal lies in 207th position. [break]



Afghanistan made a giant stride in the table to lead rankings among South Asian country. Afghanistan elevated 48 spots up to occupy 141st position, two ahead of second placed India that moved 24 spots up.



Bangladesh climbed 12 spots up to 157th position while Maldives is in 161st position and Pakistan 171 position.
