Nepal ITF awards best players

KATHMANDU, Aug 6: Nepal International Taekwondo Federation (Nepal ITF) on Tuesday awarded Bhim Bahadur Tamang and Puja Khulal Magar as the best ITF players of the year.



Nepal ITF awarded both the players based on their performances in 2069 BS. Nepal Army player Tamang had clinched four gold medals and a silver in the domestic tournaments of ITF while Magar of Kathmandu district had clinched five gold medals in the domestic tournaments organized in the year 2069 BS. Likewise, Prabin Kumar Karki won the award for best ITF coach of the year. Meanwhile, Nepal ITF awarded its Sarlahi chapter as the best member district. All the winners received cash prizes of Rs 5,000 each.



National Sports Council Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama and Nepal ITF President Kumar Thapa Magar gave away the awards to the winners during a function organized in the capital on Tuesday to celebrate the 16th anniversary of Nepal ITF.



Speaking at the function, Lama urged Nepal ITF to continue its activities to develop the game in the country. "NSC will help Nepal ITF select its national team in the future; what it has to do is to continue its activities," said Lama
