TOKYO, Nov 20: Popular Nepali folk-rock band Nepathya returned to the Tokyo Dome on Tuesday, electrifying the crowd with their unique rock and folk fusion. As singer Amrit Gurung took the stage, the three-tiered hall erupted with cheers and flashing lights.
The concert featured Nepali hits, including the rock-infused Bhedako Unjasto and the timeless Chekyo Chekyo, captivating the audience. Fans ranged from students studying in Japan to professionals, all enjoying the mix of patriotic and heartfelt songs.
Nepathya to rock Tokyo
Amrit Gurung engaged with the crowd, reminiscing about Nepal and urging support for education back home. The show concluded with the nationalistic Rato Ra Chandrasurya, leaving fans inspired.
Supporting musicians included Dhurba Lama (drums), Subin Shakya (bass), Niraj Gurung (guitar), Shanti Rayamajhi (madal), and Dinesh Raj Regmi (keyboard). Organizers expressed pride in bringing Nepathya’s vibrant performance to the Nepali community in Tokyo.
Following their successful shows in Nagoya and Tokyo, the 14-member team will head to Osaka, performing at Zepp Osaka Bayside on Nov 24. Tickets are available online via Nepathya’s official website.
