KATHMANDU, Aug 26: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday increased marginally by 4.83 points to close at 2,766.09 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,761.26 points and escalated to the day’s high at 2,775.02 points in the first 10 minutes before dropping to as low as 2,762.47 points in the next one hour. The index dropped to the day’s low at 2,761.12 points in the last 55 minutes before the market recovered around five points to close for the day.

Nine out of 13 groups were the gainers, with development banks adding the highest of 55.44 points. Manufacturing and processing lost the highest of 51.52 points, while microfinance, non-life insurance and investment groups were among the losers.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies inched up 0.51 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 4.18 billion from Rs 5.75 billion on Monday.
Among the individual companies, 101 were gainers while 149 were recorded as losers. Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 489.57 million.
Bikash Hydropower Company Limited had the biggest rise of 9.99 percent in its market value. Kumari Sabal Yojana witnessed the highest decline of 3.66 percent of its market price.
