KATHMANDU, Jan 1: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday declined 12.83 points to close at 2,620.92 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,633.76 points, initially escalating to the day’s high 2,637.1 points in nine minutes of trading. In the next half an hour, the index fell as low as 2,623.69 points, while it went to a straight fall after the first one hour to hit the day’s low at 2,613.95 points in the last half an hour. The market recovered around seven points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
Nepse takes a breather following four weeks of losses
Only ‘others’ group was the gainer of 0.27 points. Of the 12 losers, life insurance shed the largest of 101.78 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies decreased 2.43 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 4.71 billion from Rs 5.13 billion.
Among the individual companies, 63 were gainers while 189 were recorded as losers. SY Panel Nepal Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 234.11 million.
Global IME Sammunat Yojana-2 had its market values declined by the highest of 10 percent. Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha was the topmost gainer of 10 percent.
