“The two parties have unified to ensure representation of indigenous, Madhesi, Dalit, Muslim, OBC, and other marginalized groups,” said Mikrani. He also said that the two parties have unified for the cause of Madhes.
“The unification would help us win the elections in the constituencies where the indigenous groups are in a majority,” he said. He also claimed that the unified party would fight for the cause of Madhesi community.
Asserting that the party has a “strong base” in predominantly Muslim constituencies, he said, “We would get maximum votes from the Muslim voters as influential leaders from their community are with us.” He further claimed that the votes from Muslims would play a decisive role in the November 19 Constituent Assembly (CA) polls.
“Muslims comprise 4.2 percent of the total population of the country,” he said. “Therefore, Muslim voters should not be taken lightly.”
