No truth to rumors of raising senior citizen allowance age: Finance Ministry

KATHMANDU, April 4: The Ministry of Finance has clarified that rumors suggesting the government led by Balendra Shah is planning to raise the age for receiving the senior citizen allowance from 70 to 75 are false.



The MoF issued a notice on Friday, stating that social media and other platforms spreading such claims are misleading.

The notice emphasized that no discussions have taken place at any level regarding changes to the allowance age.


"There is no truth to the comments regarding the age for receiving the senior citizen allowance. The ministry and the honorable minister have not held any discussion on this matter," the notice reads.
