KATHMANDU, Dec 7: In the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), Karnali Yaks posted a target of 130 runs against defending champions Janakpur Bolts.
After losing the toss at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Sunday, Karnali batted first and scored 129 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Opener Imran Sheikh was the top scorer for Karnali with 33 runs, including a boundary and a six. Gulshan Jha contributed 19 runs, while unbeaten captain Sompal Kami added 18. Priyank Panchal scored 16, William Bosisto 15, and Najibullah Zadran 13 runs.

For Janakpur, Lalit Rajbanshi and Aditya Mahat claimed two wickets each, while Sangeeth Kure, Anil Kumar Sah, and Maj Sadakat took one wicket apiece.
Karnali, placed seventh on the points table, has earned two points from six matches. Last year, they reached the playoffs and recorded their only win of this season against Lumbini Lions by nine wickets.
Meanwhile, defending champions Janakpur Bolts remain at the bottom of the table, having won only one of their six matches this season.
