ITAHARI, Jan 22: Repeated threats of revolt by UCPN (Maoist) is going to be unfortunate for Maoists themselves as they would not be able to survive in the jungle, said CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel on Sunday.

"The idea of starting the revolt again is like inviting misfortune. There is no place even in the jungle where Maoists can hide," Pokharel said, adding  the resumption of armed conflict will not yield any result now. [break]

Speaking at a press conference organized by Press Chautari, Sunsari, he said "If Maoists continue with their negative attitude the constitution will never be drafted."

He was also of the opinion that if the peace and constitution writing processes are not completed on time,  the Maoists will have to take the blame for it as the former rebels, he said, have remained a main hindrance in completing the twin tasks.

Maoists have strayed on the wrong track and if they  do not mend their ways, then other parties will have no other option than to stand against them, Pokharel warned.
