Nepal witnesses the exodus of hundreds of citizens to foreign countries, either in search of better employment or higher studies. Narhari Timalsina, 42, from Pokhara owns a grocery shop at Samakhusi, Kathmandu.

He worked in Saudi Arabia for 10 years before deciding to head back home and start something of his own. He lives with his wife and two sons. “We are like buffalos. We go to other countries to graze, but we finally come back home where we belong. I didn’t have any money before I went to Saudi Arabia. There, I earned a little somehow and hence had the confidence to come back and start a business. Here, although I have a simple life I am with my family. And this makes me happy,” he says.
