KATHMANDU, March 12: Temporary police personnel recruited to provide security for the House of Representatives (HoR) election have been relieved from duty starting Thursday.
A total of 149,090 election security personnel, deployed during the election held on March 5, have now formally bid farewell.

Authorities organized a farewell program expressing gratitude to the temporary police, presenting them with certificates of appreciation and acknowledging their commitment to assist the country whenever needed. They had been recruited for 40 working days, a period that concludes today.
This year, a total of 149,090 temporary police personnel were mobilized for election security, including 133,980 under Nepal Police and 15,110 under the Armed Police Force.
A similar farewell ceremony has also been organized for those deployed under the Armed Police Force.
