Three arrested in connection with murder in Bara

Due to an old grudge, Umesh and five others reportedly beat Kurmi severely on the evening of June 12. Raut was admitted to the Provincial Hospital in Kalaiya but later died from his injuries.

BARA, June 18: Police have arrested three individuals on Wednesday in connection with the murder of 50-year-old Nandu Raut Kurmi, a resident of Bagbawan, Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City-14.


The arrested individuals have been identified as Ranju Jaiswal, 38, wife of Umesh Jaiswal, 40, from Bagbawan Tole, Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City-14, and their sons, Sumit Jaiswal, 20, and Kishor Jaiswal,18.

Due to an old grudge, Umesh and five others reportedly beat Kurmi severely on the evening of June 12. Raut was admitted to the Provincial Hospital in Kalaiya but later died from his injuries.


Upon receiving the news, police deployed from the District Police Office, Bara, arrested Digambar Sah Kalwar, 28, a resident of the same area, on the same day in connection with the incident.


Additionally, Ranju, who was involved in the incident and was absconding, was arrested from Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City-5, while Sumit and Kishor were arrested from Shanti Tole, Birgunj Metropolitan City-1, Parsa.


They have been charged under the relevant sections related to murder, and the District Court, Bara, has granted an extension for the police to continue their investigation.
