KATHMANDU, June 9: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is marking this year’s Eid Al Adha celebrations with a special gesture for international visitors — exclusive commemorative passport stamps.
According to the UAE Embassy in Kathmandu, passengers arriving in Dubai during the festive period are being greeted with a limited-edition passport stamp featuring the message ‘Eid in Dubai’. The initiative, led by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), offers travellers a memorable and symbolic welcome that captures the spirit of the season.
The campaign is part of Dubai’s broader festive programme and has been launched in collaboration with Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office. The exclusive stamps are being issued at Dubai International Airports and the Hatta border crossing, with the aim of adding a personalised and culturally rich touch to the arrival experience.

Designed with vibrant and artistic elements inspired by the themes of Eid, the stamp reflects Dubai’s unique ability to blend tradition with innovation. It also serves as a tangible keepsake for visitors — a small but meaningful souvenir of their Eid holiday in the Emirates.
Photos of the stamp shared by the Dubai Media Office on its official social media accounts have generated widespread excitement among tourists and residents alike. Many visitors have proudly showcased their stamped passports online, expressing gratitude for the warm and thoughtful gesture.
Eid Al Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, honours Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to God and is a time of reflection, charity, and unity for Muslims worldwide. This year, the UAE began its celebrations on Friday, June 6, following the Day of Arafah on June 5. Residents have been enjoying a four-day weekend, making it an ideal time for both domestic outings and international travel.
In addition to the passport stamp, Dubai is hosting a range of celebratory events, including a spectacular fireworks show at Dubai Parks and Resorts, visible from Riverland Dubai, which connects the city’s popular theme parks. These festivities combine cultural richness with family entertainment, offering something for everyone.
Through initiatives like this, Dubai reaffirms its identity not only as a global travel hub but also as a cultural destination where modernity and heritage coexist. By offering something as simple yet symbolic as a themed passport stamp, the city extends a heartfelt message of hospitality, inclusion, and shared celebration.
As millions around the world observe Eid Al Adha, Dubai ensures that its guests carry home a unique memory — not just in their hearts, but also stamped in their passports.
