UML sister wing holds sit-in over price hike

KATHMANDU, Sept 2: Women affiliated to All Nepal Women´s Association, close to the UML, staged a sit-in in front of the District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu on Sunday, protesting price hike on daily essentials including petroleum products, vegetables and food grains.



The women organised the sit-in for an hour from 11:00 am demanding national consensus government in connection with submitting a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the Chief District Officer.[break]



Receiving the memo, Chief District Officer, Chudamani Sharma, pointed out the need of monitoring to control the ongoing price hike in the country.



Kathmandu district chairperson of the Association, Ratna Gurung, blamed that the government has promoted corruption, murder and violence in the country.
