RAMECHHAP, Aug 10: A woman was killed and her husband seriously injured when a Scorpio jeep plunged off the road at Bhokse cliff in Ramechhap Municipality-6, Bhaluwajor, on Sunday morning.
According to police, the couple was traveling from the district headquarters, Manthali, to Hetauda to visit their son when the vehicle veered off the Manthali–Khukot road section and fell towards the Tamakoshi River.
Nine injured in Scorpio accident in Palpa
The victim, identified as around 40-year-old Radha Karki Chauhan of Manthali Municipality-1, died at the scene, confirmed Inspector Kaushal Nyaupane of the District Police Office, Ramechhap.
Police said the rescue was challenging, as the jeep was stuck on a cliff, but her body has now been retrieved. Her husband, Uttam Chauhan, is receiving treatment at the Ramechhap Community Hospital in Manthali. The vehicle’s registration number has yet to be confirmed due to its position on the cliff.
