Century-old ancient palace sees cracks

ILAM, May 15: The powerful earthquake that rocked the country on April 25 and May 12 has left the district's most ancient heritage to lurch with cracks and damages.
The one-and-a-half century ancient building of the district administration, which was built in 1920, has come to a decrepit condition with frequent quake and aftershocks. 
The building has been used to render district administration services to the general public since long. Assistant Chief District Officer Sujan Fago said now the service is being delivered from a small room before the main building after quake caused several cracks and partial damages to it throwing regular works out of gear. 
The Rana-era building was used to provide service related to passport, citizenship certificate, case, organizational registration and renew and investigation, among others. RSS
