NTB announces free shuttle bus service for air passengers on Election Day

The shuttle buses will run from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM, providing repeated trips along each route throughout the day.

KATHMANDU, March 2: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has announced a free shuttle bus service for both national and international air passengers traveling to and from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on March 5, coinciding with the national election. The service will operate on three designated routes, ensuring convenient connectivity between the airport and major hotels and locations across Kathmandu.



The shuttle buses will run from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM, providing repeated trips along each route throughout the day. Passengers are advised to contact the designated route coordinators for real-time updates and guidance on the day of operation. For overall coordination, the Nepal Tourism Board has provided contacts for general inquiries, including Bharat Timilsena at 9851237302 and the Tourist Police at 9851289445.

Route 1 will connect the airport with key central areas and hotels, including N.A.C, New Road, Kantipath, Thamel, Lainchaur, Malla Hotel, Nayabazar, Shankar Hotel, Radisson, Durbarmarg, Yak n Yeti, Naxal (Nagpokhari), Gaushala, and Battisputali (Dwarika Hotel), before returning to the airport. Route 2 will serve the eastern and northern parts of the city, including Maharajgung Chowk, Naranthan Chowk, Dhumbarahi (Ramada Hotel), Chabahil, Boudha (Hyatt Regency), Jorpati Chowk, Chabahil, and Gaushala, before returning to the airport. Passengers using this route can contact Pawan Giri at 9844070555, and the bus number for this route is Ba 1 Pa 1320.


Route 3 will cover Kupondole, Himalayan Hotel, Tripureshor, Kalimati, Soaltee, Kalanki, Ekantakuna, Satdobato, Gwarko (Royal Tulip), Tinkune, New Baneshor, Everest Hotel, and finally the airport, with buses making repeated trips throughout the day. Passengers using this route can reach out to Suraj Khadgu at 9745363117, and the bus number for this route is Ba 1 Pa 1081.


Passengers are encouraged to plan their travel in advance, follow safety guidelines and maintain communication with the assigned coordinators for a smooth journey.
