Referring to the political parties' unanimity in the resolution motion tabled at the parliament on Saturday, Chairman Dahal said the indication is ripe for a new constitution and hence all the parties should work together for it.
Chairman Dahal, who arrived here today to take stock of the latest situation since the April 25 quake, said, "Constitution making should not become a secondary issue now. Constitution making and relief and rehabilitation should move ahead together". 'We have forgot to quarrel and hence this is an opportunity for national unity, and to move ahead with a new determination'.
Talking to reporters, Maoist Chairman Dahal also said that it was the time now to form a government of national consensus but added that his party was not longing for presence in the government. 'All nationalist forces should come together, and a national government is only a form of national unity', he said.
Building on the consensus that developed over the resolution motion among the political parties, the new constitution should be drafted and local elections held. Leader Dahal also said that the relief and rehabilitation fund should be led and implemented by the government.
Chairman Dahal met with quake survivors in Barpak, the epicenter of the April 25 quake, Laprak and Gumda villages. He also acquired information about the ongoing relief operation carried out by the local administration, before flying back to the capital this afternoon. RSS
