KATHMANDU, October 28: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday surged by a whopping 62.29 points to close at 2,571.34 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,509.04 points and declined initially to the day’s low at 2,505.55 points in the first one minute. The index then inclined gradually in the remaining period, ensuring a 2.48 percent rise overall.
It was the second-day successive rise in the market index. On Sunday, the market gained 5.19 points, while the market remained closed due to the public holiday of Chhath.
All the 13 groups were the gainers. As life insurance secured the largest gain of 433.62 points, a total of five groups had their market value surged by three-digit points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also inclined 11.97 points. The daily turnover increased by a notable amount to Rs 4.57 billion from Rs 2.66 billion.
Among the individual companies, 236 were gainers while 12 were recorded as losers. Himalayan Power Partner had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 249.46 million.
Nyadi Hydropower Limited was the topmost gainer. The share price of Himalayan Power Partner Ltd plummeted by the highest of 6.36 percent.
