KATHMANDU, July 15: Monsoon wind is active nationwide at present. The low-pressure belt of monsoon is located in a slightly higher place than its average range, or near the Tarai region of Nepal.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology informed it is currently generally cloudy weather across the country.
Heavy rainfall forecast in Bagmati, several provinces
Heavy rainfall is predicted in the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces and one to two places of Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and the southern plains of Lumbini Provinces.
It is currently raining moderately in one to two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces.
It will be generally cloudy throughout the day today. Moderate rainfall along with lightning and thunder is expected in some places of the mountainous belts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces. Even a light snowfall is likely in the mountainous region of these places.
The Weather Forecasting Division under the Department issued a notice, informing that some places in hilly and Tarai regions would have moderate rainfall coupled with thunder and lightning. The weather service further added that it will be generally cloudy across the country tonight.
The tourism and travel services have been urged precaution in view of adverse weather.
