KATHMANDU, May 10: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu observed Marka-e-Haq Day on Sunday, with calls for unity and peace.
The occasion was marked by a flag-hoisting ceremony led by Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal Abrar H. Hashmi, attended by embassy officials, members of the Pakistani community, their families and friends of Pakistan.

According to the Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu, messages from Pakistan’s leadership were also read on the occasion, highlighting national unity, military resolve, and the country’s stance on regional issues.
In his message, President Asif Ali Zardari said Marka-e-Haq demonstrated that Pakistan’s deterrence is “not a slogan,” but is grounded in professional competence, tri-services coordination, and the resolve of its people. He paid tribute to the armed forces and martyrs, stating that the nation stands in honour of those who gave their lives for the country.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif described Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq as a day of gratitude to Allah Almighty and a commemoration of Pakistan’s response in times of adversity. He paid tribute to martyrs, their families, and “ghazis” who, he said, stood firmly in defence of the homeland. He also highlighted the coordinated response of Pakistan’s armed forces across land, air, sea, and cyber domains, calling it a demonstration of national strength.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, in his message, underscored that lasting peace in South Asia requires addressing core disputes, particularly Jammu and Kashmir, while reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue, diplomacy and peaceful resolution of conflicts based on justice and mutual respect.
In his remarks, Ambassador Hashmi paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and the unity of the Pakistani people.
