KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Bharat Khanal, a regional council member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) from Jhapa constituency No. 5, has joined the CPN-UML.
Khanal, who had been playing an active role in strengthening the RSP organization in Jhapa-5—the home district and constituency of UML chair KP Sharma Oli—left the party and chose to join the UML.

New entrant Khanal was formally welcomed into the party by UML chair Oli, who presented him with a shawl (khada).
