Two hundi operators arrested in Nagarjun, Kathmandu with Rs 11.6 million cash

The District Police Office, Kathmandu, apprehended them with cash totaling Rs 11.6 million. Following their arrest, the Kathmandu District Court granted a five-day extension for investigation.

KATHMANDU, March 16: Two men, Sagar Giri and Pramod Prasad Dhital, have been arrested in Nagarjun Municipality–8, Kathmandu, for involvement in hundi and virtual currency transactions.



The District Police Office, Kathmandu, apprehended them with cash totaling Rs 11.6 million. Following their arrest, the Kathmandu District Court granted a five-day extension for investigation.

Police also recovered multiple items from the suspects, including cheques worth Rs 2.73 million under different names, several ATMs, citizenship documents, three vehicle registration books, two four-wheelers, one two-wheeler, six mobile phones, 31 SIM cards, and one computer.


The arrest follows intelligence indicating the suspects’ involvement in illegal hundi and digital currency operations. Investigation is ongoing.
