Former Army Lieutenant General Balananda Sharma to become Foreign Minister, to take oath today

Sharma is scheduled to take the oath of office at 2:00 PM today. According to the Office of the President, he will be assigned the Foreign Affairs portfolio, which is currently being handled by Prime Minister Karki herself.

KATHMANDU, Dec 26: The interim government is set to expand the cabinet once again. Former Nepali Army Lieutenant General Balananda Sharma is being appointed as Minister for Foreign Affairs in the Sushila Karki-led government.

Sharma is scheduled to take the oath of office at 2:00 PM today. According to the Office of the President, he will be assigned the Foreign Affairs portfolio, which is currently being handled by Prime Minister Karki herself.


The government, which has announced parliamentary elections for March 5, has been repeatedly expanding the cabinet in recent weeks.
