NMB Bank partners with govt to integrate Nagarik App into digital banking

KATHMANDU, July 18: NMB Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Department of Information Technology (DoIT) under the Government of Nepal to integrate the Nagarik App into its digital banking services, according to a press release issued by the bank.



The integration will allow NMB Bank customers to securely autofill their verified personal information into online banking application forms through the Nagarik App, reducing paperwork and speeding up the processing of banking services.

According to the press release, the system will operate on a consent-based model, meaning customers' data will only be shared after they provide explicit authorization through the Nagarik App for a specific transaction.


The bank said the collaboration is expected to simplify digital banking by leveraging Nepal's Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), making banking services more secure, efficient and accessible for customers across the country.
