KATHMANDU, March 8: CK Raut, chairman of the Janamat Party, saw his brief parliamentary political journey come to an end. Ramji Yadav of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) defeated Raut to secure victory from Saptari-2.
Yadav won the election with 28,404 votes, while Raut finished in third place. Umesh Kumar Yadav of the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal came second with 14,263 votes, and CK Raut received only 9,880 votes.

Satish Kumar Singh, candidate of the Swabhiman Party formed after splitting from the Janamat Party, received 3,557 votes. Singh had previously served as Madhesh Province Chief Minister under the Janamat Party.
Other candidates included Ramkumar Yadav of the Nepali Congress with 2,498 votes, Afroz Alam of the Rashtra Nirman Party with 1,120 votes, and Mohammad Ziaun Rahman with 883 votes.
