KATHMANDU, Sep 26: The Kathmandu Valley Mayors' Forum has pledged Rs 50 million to support the reconstruction of Singha Durbar.
Chairman of Mayors’ Forum Chiri Babu Maharjan, who is also Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, said that the Forum would also contribute Rs 10 million to the Valley Police Office to help strengthen security in the capital.

A meeting of the Forum on Friday expressed its commitment to assist in restoring damaged police posts and municipal offices to ensure the continued delivery of essential public services.
The Forum condemned the acts of arson and vandalism of the September 9 protest stating that such actions had harmed Nepal’s national identity, democracy, and sovereignty. They also said that such vandals tarnished the country’s image internationally.
The Forum has called on the government to launch a thorough investigation and take strict action against those involved in these anarchic acts.
A total of 18 local governments in three districts of Kathmandu Valley had formed a forum in November 2018 with a major goal of integrated development and cooperation.
