Rewat Bahadur Thapa, a planner with Eastern Nepal Development, told Republica that were preparing to take the land on lease from the government. “Discussions are positive. We will initiate the process once the government opens tender for the lease,” he added.
He also said the area the new infrastructure will showcase culture, tradition and lifestyle of mountain, hills and Tarai areas.
Subash Nirola, senior director at Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), said it is necessary to develop Hile area as a tourist destination to attract tourists visiting the eastern development region. He also said the amount collected from share distribution will be provided to a local women´s group on loan at 5 pc interest to start tourism facilities.
“We will provide trainings on cook, waiter, home stay and hospitality at the local level to enhance professionalism,” he added.
Thapa told Republica that they have worked out the co-operative model to ensure participation of all for tourism development.
