Entire family involved in theft, five arrested in Kaski

Kaski police have arrested five individuals from the same extended family on charges of involvement in a series of thefts across Pokhara and Tanahun.

POKHARA, May 16 : Kaski police have arrested five individuals from the same extended family on charges of involvement in a series of thefts across Pokhara and Tanahun.


Those arrested include 26-year-old Subash BK, also known as 'Kattappa', of Shuklagandaki Municipality-10, Tanahun; his cousin Bimal BK, 23; his maternal uncle Durga Bahadur Thapa, 53, of Syangja; and two of his paternal aunt’s sons—Ganesh Sunar, 22, and Suresh BK, 33.

According to Kaski police, the group was apprehended during an investigation into thefts reported in Wards 26, 30, 31, and 32 of Pokhara Metropolitan City.


Police recovered around 12 tola (approximately 150 grams) of gold jewelry, 24 tola of silver ornaments, and two vehicles used in the crimes—a motorcycle (Ga 22 Pa 4989) and a scooter (Ga 21 Pa 6753).


Preliminary investigations reveal that the group was involved in at least 12 theft incidents—nine in Pokhara and three in Tanahun. Police have obtained an extended custody order from the Kaski District Court and are continuing further investigations under theft and robbery charges.
