ANNFSU enforced the strike demanding arrest of the cadres of Nepali Congress-aligned Nepal Student Union involved in attacking its activists in Tri-Chandra Campus.[break]
On Sunday, NSU cadres attacked ANNFSU member Birendra Rawal on the campus premises with a khukuri and injured him seriously.
Though the bandh was called till 12 noon in view of the undergoing examination of Bachelor´s Degree II Year, the strike affected many examinees.
In the aftermath of repeated brawls between the student unions of the two major parties, police have arrested 24 ANNFSU cadres from Tri-Chandara and 12 from RR Campus.
ANNFSU Secretary Rachana Khadka said the bandh was "largely successful" and demanded immediate arrest of the NSU cadres behind the attack.
ANNFSU cadres staged sit-ins in several areas in the Capital and also chanted slogans.
