KATHMANDU, Nov 13: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal on Thursday stressed that Nepal’s ongoing political and social challenges should be resolved through dialogue, consensus, and elections, reaffirming that no one has the liberty to act against the aspirations of the Gen Z movement and the dreams of the martyrs.
Speaking at a meeting of the National Assembly’s Committee on Federal Strengthening and National Concerns, Minister Aryal said the government remains committed to addressing the people’s desire for change. “The blood of Gen Z youth was shed for good governance. This government will stay alert and work toward that goal,” he said, emphasizing that the dreams of fallen youths centered on eradicating corruption and ensuring accountability.

Minister Aryal reiterated that the government would not tolerate impunity and informed the committee that the judicial probe commission led by Karki is investigating the damages caused to public and private property. He stated that the government is not taking a “blanket approach” but is working case by case.
Addressing concerns about police morale, Aryal said that ensuring non-interference in the force’s professional decisions would naturally keep its morale high. He also mentioned that necessary coordination is underway with various agencies to ensure that security bodies have adequate resources and logistics for the upcoming elections.
The minister further noted that the government cannot afford to be negative toward political parties, adding that talks and consultations will continue at multiple levels.
During the meeting chaired by Sonam Gyalchhen Sherpa, committee members raised questions about maintaining peace and security, boosting police morale, and ensuring that the upcoming elections are held peacefully, fairly, and on schedule.
