KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Home Ministry has announced a special operation to recover weapons looted during the Gen Z protests.
Speaking to the media after a meeting of the Central Security Committee held at Singha Durbar on Sunday, Home Minister Aryal shared details of the plan.

According to him, the meeting also reviewed the work of the task force formed to develop strategic plans for the upcoming elections. He added that Chief District Officers will be given primary responsibility for creating a secure and enabling environment for the polls.
Minister Aryal further said that security agencies will be mobilized more actively to bring back prisoners who escaped during the protests.
“We had earlier formed a task force to present strategic plans related to election preparations,” he said. “We will now launch a special program to recover the weapons looted during the Gen Z movement. Additional measures will also be introduced to return inmates who escaped from prisons across the country. To ensure peace and security during the elections, we will strengthen joint patrolling by security forces.”
He also stressed that political parties must commit not to exploit criminal elements in society during the election period.
