Saying that efforts are on to reach consensus, the prime minister also urged parties to take initiatives to sort out their differences. [break]

The UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN-UML reached an agreement on Thursday to summon a regular session of parliament very soon after forging consensus on key political issues, including power sharing. The agreement has left loopholes giving parties the liberty to interpret it to suit their own interests.

The UCPN (Maoist) has said the parliament session should be summoned within a week.

The prime minister, who arrived here to inaugurate a business fair, complained of not getting Maoist support to materialize the government plan to vacate the Maoist cantonments by mid-January.

Addressing a gathering of businessmen, the prime minister asked them not to give in to threats and pressure from any group.

The prime minister also announced that the government is considering a Kathmandu-Pokhara-Lumbini-Chitwan fast track road in a bid to provide stimulus to tourism and economic sectors.
