Injured Khanal to take rest

KATHMANDU, June 10: CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal, who was injured during a function in the capital on Thursday morning, will not participate in political functions for a couple of days.



The UML chief fell down while trying to offer garland on the statue of the founder of the hospital. The ceremony was organized to mark the death anniversary of the founder. [break]



Khanal underwent treatment at Manamohan Memorial Hospital in the capital. He was later taken to his residence at Dallu, Kathmandu.



"Doctors have suggested him to take bed rest at least for 48 hours," Khanal´s personal secretary Nirmal Bhattarai told myrepublica.com.



Khanal has suffered minor injuries to his right leg.
